2014 has been a wild year; a career roller-coaster of new and old collegues, changes to teams, challenges and some amazing achievements.
I am so touched at the kind words she wrote about me for the nomination, I wanted to share and capture those words and send her a special thanks- Thank you Helen
Jo is an enthusiastic and passionate person with experience in event management, marketing and digital.
As Chairman of the Web Group Wales she leads digital communicators in sharing the
best ways to provide services and information online.
As a digital marketing officer, she is behind some of Monmouthshire County
Council’s best projects – an open government licenced, open source
built and personalised website, and livestreaming meeting to YouTube.
She’s made residents more informed with her projects and at the same time
will have saved the authority a minimum of £500k by using new free tools
and personalised web services.
I had the pleasure of seeing Jo continuously challenge herself to develop
both personally and professionally – I admire how she’s always learning
and applying this to her work.
She’s unfailingly pleasant and high energy with residents on Twitter and
Facebook, comments on the interactive website and with colleagues.
I am up against two truly talented communications experts and, reading their nominations, I strongly believe we are all winners. So this post is to ask as many people to take a moment to vote and to recognise the talent that is in public sector communications.
So, top of my Christmas list, is for you to take a moment to vote for the awards and to read the stories about all of the nominations- the voting closes on Thursday (4th December 2014)! You can vote here: http://www.comms2point0.co.uk/comms2point0-unawards-2014/
Thank you for making it to the end of the post and best of luck to all of the finalists!
